Baccala Fritta







Warm night, inviting piazza

Hoping for punterelle on the menu, a cool season bitterish chicory with a dressing of anchovy, lemon and olive oil.

Alas – only the summer version of gallinelle with a similar dressing.

Maybe we should think vegetable, more healthful?

So we ordered just one cod fillet, and one zucchini…which turned out to be 4 large battered pieces.

Heavy batter – neutral oil, minimally greasy - cut by a light, white wine.

Buono!
